Cancer Imaging under the School of Biomedical Engineering and Imaging Sciences covers the spectrum from preclinical development to multi-centre clinical trials. Imaging research includes the following modalities: ultrasound (US), computed tomography (CT), magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), single photon emission computed tomography (SPECT)/CT, positron emission tomography (PET)/CT, and PET/MRI as well as interventional radiology.

Our imaging research is focussed on the following themes:

  • Biomarker development, methodology, treatment planning

  • Disease phenotyping & response prediction / evaluation & prognosis

  • Development & optimisation of hybrid imaging

  • Image analysis, processing & optimisation, bioinformatics and radiomics
