The KHP Cancer Biobank collects biological samples from patients who attend Guy’s & St Thomas’ Hospitals and have, or may have, a diagnosis of cancer. The samples and associated clinical data are stored in the Biobank to which researchers worldwide, including those from commercial companies can apply for access.

The KHP Cancer Biobank is licensed by the Human Tissue Authority (licence 12121) to store human tissue for research. It also has NHS research ethics approval as a research tissue biobank to collect

and distribute samples without the need for applicants to obtain their own ethical approval’.
